The wildest way to see amazing art

You’ll search high and low in the varied buildings of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, taking a trip through history and cultures. The LACMA has the most eclectic collection in town, so there’s something for everyone—from ancient Egypt to modern California, from the Italian Renaissance to the Harlem Renaissance, from delicate, quirky Japanese netsuke to big, bold sculptures by Rodin and contemporary artists.

Along the way, you might discover…

  • A boy engaged in fowl play
  • A goddess who’s gone too far with the SlimFast
  • A Mexican warrior who gives new meaning to the term “fashion victim”
  • Kittens hitching a ride with a famous sailor
  • A campy celeb who said oui, oui to a famous French painting

You don’t need to know anything about art to answer the questions—you just need sharp eyes and comfy shoes.

What players are saying about the LACMA scavenger hunt

A 5-star review on Yelp: “Great activity for Corporate Team Building. We did our hunt at LACMA for a group of 17. We broke into three groups and had a ton of fun, learned a little, and spent a lot of time bonding as teams. The hunt questions were clever and entertaining. Our host, Joshua, was helpful and friendly. The overall experiences with Watson Adventures was professional and easy to work with. I would recommend them. Our entire group—all 17—spoke positively of the event and how much fun we had. 100% home run for a diverse group of people working at different levels in the organization.”

Many a corporate group has enjoyed this hunt as a team-building activity. The LACMA itself even commissioned us to create a hunt in 2018 for Free-for-All Day.

You’ll also uncover the secrets of the museum, finding details in art that turn out to be part of a cryptic code. Solve the mystery—stop the killer!

Take a leisurely tour of the museum another time. Right now, there’s no time to waste because a killer is on the loose and it’s up to you to stop him. This diabolical mastermind created a scavenger hunt to taunt the authorities, but they’ve reached a dead end (so to speak) and need your help. Follow the clues to examine all kinds of art and answer tricky questions to suss out the murder weapon, the location of the body, and the killer’s identity.

This game isn’t as challenging as the Murder at the LACMA Scavenger Hunt, so it’s a particularly good choice for team building with mixed groups. A Kids Edition, for children ages 10 and up to do with adults, is also available.
