The Munch Around U Street Scavenger Hunt

If you hunger for adventure…

…you won’t want to miss this foodie fest that reveals the best—and yummiest—of the U Street Corridor. On teams, you’ll explore from the Duke to the Ethiopian Dukem, making stops along the way to sample tasty treats and discover the rich history of this unique neighborhood. Featuring: Langston Hughes, sweet potato pie cake, the legendary Ben’s Chili Bowl, the Bohemian Caverns, a Masonic Temple, a Belgian restaurant inspired by Motown star Marvin Gaye, and numerous sites of African-American history (such as the hotel where black jazz greats stayed).  

This hunt is a great activity for locals and out-of-towners alike. You don’t need any previous knowledge to triumph—just good teamwork, comfortable shoes, and an empty belly!

For the Food Challenges, teams must also take photos of themselves enjoying or presenting snacks from a choice of vendors and stores.
