The Pike Place Munch-Around-the-Market Scavenger Hunt
Flying fish, Olympia oysters, beaming sunflowers, Rainier cherries, Walla Walla onions, exotic cheeses, hot donuts, live musicians, dramatic views, eclectic and eccentric stores hidden in a three-story warren of halls and ramps—America’s premier market has something for everyone. And if you’ve been to the Pike Place Market, we don’t need to tell you that it makes for a great venue for a scavenger hunt. But even if you think you know the market, you’ll be surprised at all the places and sights you never noticed. The hunt covers the mazy, multi-level Pike Place Market proper and the surrounding blocks. Several groups from Microsoft have raved about this hunt. On this special hunt, you won’t just be hunting for answers to our usual tricky, humorous questions, you’ll also be seeking and noshing on foods along the way. You’ll be searching for answers to such questions as...

• Find three stages of life. The wise guy who sees this apparently wasn’t good at predicting his own future happiness. How many times did he presumably experience the middle of those three stages?  Answer: “Alexander, the Man Who Knows” married nine times, according to a sign below a giant poster that shows scenes of infancy, marriage, and death.

• In store filled with odd antiques, what is the gypsy’s first prediction for you, and nearby, how old is the ugly creature that might stalk Little Red Diving Hood? Answer: Your lucky color—dispensed by a gypsy fortune teller—and the wolf fish is 70 years old.

• Find an O display endorsed by the SPOF. After you invest two Georges, how many examples can you see of F behind this one window? Answer: Fourteen types of footwear are seen if you spend 50 cents to peer into the Giant Shoe Museum, endorsed by the Society for the Preservation of Oversize Footwear (SPOF).

Keep in mind that we haven’t included directions and additional clues in these sample questions that help guide your team to the right spot to uncover the answers. Other highlights of the hunt include a magic shop, delicious fireweed honey, celebrity autographs, a Sleepless in Seattle location, curds (but not whey), party-hardy skeletons, fiery jellies and actual frankincense and myrrh. Add our creative Team Photo Challenges for even more fun and for souvenirs of the experience. For more information about the hunt, contact us.

The Seattle Art Museum
It’s back and better than ever! SAM’s eclectic collection has provided us with some great hunts. It was on a hunt here that Amazon.com’s Jeff Bezos led his team to a perfect score. Watson Adventures brings its extensive and widely acclaimed experience with art museum hunts to create an exciting, engaging game with a dash of culture. You don’t need to know anything about art or the museum to succeed—you just need a sharp mind, good teamwork and comfortable shoes. You’ll tackle such questions as...

• Find an African object that illustrates the poem that begins “Hey diddle diddle…” What is it called?  Answer: A wunkirmian, a spoon with legs (“The dish ran away with the spoon…”).

• Among Near Eastern objects, find a threesome ready to smolder, if not from frustration over which way to go. What do they burn?  Answer: Three lions form an incense burner.

• What saint could say to his pet, “No, I wanted a Bud Lite!”?  Answer: St. Dominic, whose dog holds a candle in his mouth.

Keep in mind that we’ve left out the directions and additional clues that guide you to the gallery where you can find these objects. The hunt is available in two-hour and 90-minute additions. For more information about the hunt, contact us.

Woodland Park Zoo Safari
We’ve staged a lot of hunts at zoos around the country, but this zoo might be our favorite. The Woodland Park Zoo has all of the exotic animals you’d ever hope to encounter, and they are displayed in creative ways in unusually beautiful settings. Which is all well and good...but we plan to have you and your teammates hustling on a whirlwind safari that reveals the best of the zoo in just 90 minutes or two hours. Highlights include the Zooperior Court, where you must solve a case involving spiders; go nose-to-nose with gorillas in your midst; stare down an enormous brown bear; hang out with bats; and much more. Add our creative Team Photo Questions for more fun and for souvenirs of the experience. Many of the hunt questions involve indoor exhibits, so sketchy weather may not be a problem. The Mad Science Scramble Scavenger Hunt
Yes, it’s true: As science museums go, this one is more geared toward kids. But that doesn’t mean that the Pacific Science Center doesn’t provide challenging, surreal experiences for adults on our hunt. And since this is an interactive museum, your team will not just be answering our usual tricky questions, but also various members of the team will be challenged to perform Amazing Race–style tasks, such as beating a robot at tic-tac-toe, identifying mysterious odors, spotting hidden 3D images, and playing bizarre instruments. You’ll also dodge live butterflies, operate a mechanical dinosaur, attend an autopsy, take evidence, and solve a crime. This hunt location may not be for everyone, but if you’re looking for something definitely out of the ordinary, and don’t mind the possibility that you’ll be making your way around kids, then this could be the hunt place for you. The EMP and Sci-Fi Museum Madness Scavenger Hunt
This pop-culture mecca makes for an unusual hunting ground. It’s two museums in one: The Experience Music Project will fill your eyes with memorabilia from rock history and fill your ears with all kinds of sounds that your team must make. Then there is the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame, where objects you’ll need to find are, well, out of this world—comic books, posters, action figures, video clips, and, best of all, actual props from famous TV shows and movies. One moment your team will be trading licks, the next you’ll be having trouble with actual Tribbles. The museums have a relatively high admission fee, which makes this one of our more expensive hunts. But if a hunt steeped in pop culture sounds irresistible, then this is the hunt for you. For more information about the hunt, contact us.
