Anyone can get in the game! The scavenger hunts take place on weekends and are played on teams of up to six people. No knowledge of any hunt location is required—all you need is a sharp mind and a good pair of shoes. More than 150,000 hunters served since 1999.

Advance purchase is required for all hunts. To purchase tickets online, select a city or a hunt and go to the hunt calendar. Solve a Murder for the Fun of It on a Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt

Fancy yourself a sleuth? Wish that you could go hunting for clues throughout a museum just like Robert Langdon in The Da Vinci Code? Dust off your magnifying glass, put on your detective hat and join a Watson Adventures murder mystery scavenger hunt.

How the Murder Mystery Game Works

Watson Adventures offers scavenger hunt games at museums and in neighborhoods throughout the country that provide you and your team with the opportunity to explore exhibits and locations through fresh eyes while searching for clues to solve a murder mystery.

Your team of up to six people will uncover secrets while tackling witty, tricky questions. The game is perfect for fans of murder mystery dinners and whodunnit books as well as anyone with a keen sense of curiosity. No previous knowledge is required. Regularly scheduled hunts for the general public are offered on select weekends. Select a city to start the investigation!

Choose Your Scavenger Hunt Mystery

Your team will be challenged with solving one of the following murder mysteries. We’ll provide you with clues and background information, but it’s up to you and your team to unravel the mystery and pinpoint the killer. Each plot is specific to the type of museum or neighborhood in which you’re hunting.

“Who Killed the Curator?” Art Museum Murder Mystery

A murdered curator has left behind a cryptic trail of clues connected with secrets in works of art. As your team gathers answers about the art, you begin to piece together a sordid tale about greed, lust, pride, revenge and treachery, all revolving around the museum’s planned multi-million dollar purchase of a rare painting by Leonardo da Vinci. The murder victim knew too much—and now it’s your turn to learn what he knew and discover what drove one of four suspects to commit murder. To find out, you’ll have to crack a secret code left in the victim’s appointment calendar. Can you figure out who dunnit?

Available at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Getty Center in Los Angeles, The Philadelphia Museum of Art and The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.

“Beware the Curse!” Natural History & Science Museum Mystery

Someone, or some thing, has been bumping off museum staffers involved in a special acquisition. Are they victims of a dreaded curse? Or is a serial killer on the loose? Your team of sleuths will have to crack a secret code and uncover the museum’s secrets to solve the mystery and stop the killings. Depending on the museum, this plot may feature an Aztec idol, an Egyptian relic or a long-lost invention by Benjamin Franklin.

Available at The American Museum of Natural History in New York, The Museum of Science in Boston, The Field Museum in Chicago, The Natural History Museum in Los Angeles, The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, The De Young Museum in San Francisco and The National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C.
