Explore Your City on a Scavenger Hunt

You’re not collecting objects (drop that pigeon!), you’re searching for answers to tricky, humorous questions that help you see a museum, neighborhood, or other cool place with new eyes.

Anyone can get in the game! The scavenger hunts take place on weekends and are played on teams of up to six people. No knowledge of any hunt location is required—all you need is a sharp mind and a good pair of shoes. More than 150,000 hunters served since 1999.

Advance purchase is required for all hunts. To purchase tickets online, select a city or a hunt and go to the hunt calendar. To purchase tickets by phone, call OvationTix at 866-811-4111 (Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time). Please note that there is a $1 surcharge for phone orders.

Explore San Francisco on public scavenger hunts that reveal the best of such places as North Beach, Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf, the de Young Museum, the Legion of Honor, the San Francisco Zoo, and many more great locations. but this hunt will have you rediscover it and find hidden history and overlooked oddities. You’ll uncover secrets about old ships on Hyde Street Pier, Navy vessels on Pier 45, crab stands on Taylor Street, a cocoa grinder at Ghirardelli Square, an Atlantis-inspired mural, and the Cannery.

You’ll also discover a guy holding on for his life at the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park Visitor Center, learn about the country’s first Irish coffee, and check out bizarre and entertaining coin-operated antique machines at the Musee Mecanique, plus much more.
