Museum Meeting Place Information

Bring Your E-Ticket and/or Confirmation Number to the Hunt: After you complete your online ticket purchase, you will see an on-screen “e-ticket” that you should print out and bring to the hunt. If you purchase tickets over the phone, you will receive a confirmation number that you should bring to the hunt. You must have a valid e-ticket or confirmation number to participate in the hunt. You will also receive an e-mail receipt of your purchase. No tickets will be sold at the hunt. If you need to purchase tickets, return to the Hunt Schedule.

Meeting Place: In the lobby of the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s west entrance (facing Fairmount Park). Near benches, look for our crew wearing burgundy caps that say “Watson Adventures.” Please do not enter the museum through the east entrance (facing Center City), because your hunt ticket includes museum admission. We will provide you with a museum admission ticket.

Meeting Time: Please be ready to hunt at the time indicated on your e-ticket . If you need to check coats or bags, please arrive early, especially in the winter, when the lines can be a bit long.

Forming a Team: The hunt is played on teams of up to six people. You can bring your own team and hunt with as few as two on a team, or we can help you band together with kindred spirits at the start of the hunt. Over the years, we’ve found that “pick up” teams often have the most fun, not just because the hunt is a bit easier with more brains working on the questions, but also because the hunters have fun getting to know each other. Your team can have more than six people, but you will not be eligible to win a prize. But maybe that’s not your priority anyway! The main objective is to have fun.

Prizes: Each member of the winning team will receive a prize (it’s a sur-prize). Plus if you fill out a survey after the hunt, you’ll be eligible to win free admission to a future hunt.

Dress: Be comfortable! Check your coat, don’t carry anything heavy, and definitely wear comfortable shoes!

Directions to the Museum: See the museum’s helpful directions page at www.philamuseum.org/visit/12-453-3.html. It includes driving directions, information about parking, and public transit options.

Information About the PMA: Call (215) 684-7500 or visit www.philamuseum.org. Please note that we are not affiliated with the museum, so don’t call to ask them questions about the hunt. They’ll probably just be puzzled.

Learn More About the Philadelphia Museum of Art: You don’t have to know anything about art or the museum to triumph on our hunt. But if you’d like to dig deeper, we recommend Philadelphia Museum of Art: Handbook of the Collections, a “greatest hits” collection that includes some of the works featured on the hunt. It’s a handsome book.
