Scavenger Hunt Turns Copernicus Legacy into Reality

HarperCollins Copernicus Legacy WinntersLast weekend, the winners of HarperCollins Children’s Books’ Copernicus Legacy Sweepstakes arrived at the American Museum of Natural History in New York: four kids, four adults alongside one-acclaimed children’s author. HarperCollins ran the sweepstakes to promote the latest release of the best-selling children’s series, The Copernicus Legacy by Tony Abbott. The prize? A real-life relic hunt created by yours truly.

Working closely with HarperCollins we created a hunt that echoed the adventures of The Copernicus Legacy. The hunt started in the Rose Center by the Hayden Sphere and planetarium—fitting for the series’ theme surrounding discovery, constellations and space. From there, the hunters were taken on a thrilling tour of the museum by following a series of Copernicus-themed clues and answering questions about the artifacts in the museum.

Tony Abbott hunted alongside the sweepstakes winners, making it an unforgettable event for all. After cracking the codes and discovering the quirkier side of a renowned museum, everyone ventured to Barnes & Noble for a pizza party and book signing.

Although only four were chosen for this specific opportunity, we do offer hunts around the U.S. similar to the Copernicus Relic Hunt such as The Museum of Natural Hysteria Scavenger Hunt for Kids in Boston, New York, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.

And for those looking to add an unusual and enticing element to their event, from team building to promotional purposes, such as what HarperCollins did, we can help you. Contact us today and find more fun!
